Breaking in the Spyder.

Okay, so, right on time Saturday morning we met up with Crow, JustBill, and DoD, and off we went.

The weather was perfect, we were all stoked, and I was especially enjoying my new ride!

Just as we were ending the AZ-74 portion and about to turn onto AZ-60, we were joined by KTMser & Sammy.

Along the way we stopped at a gas station for a pit stops, and some "glam" shots :
then off to the final stretch to Prescott for lunch.

Go Sammy!!
04
Admittedly, I was the slowest, as I am still learning to trust my new machine.
05
After riding my hack rig it is quite a change to not have to worry about tipping, etc.
06
The Spyder did awesome, (way better than the rider) and we arrived at Prescott for lunch at the Brewery.

While we were eating, CrashDbad gave a call that he and his fellow riders were almost there. We ate, dinked around, got a coffee, then found them back at the town square by the bikes. After some more chit chatting, we all went our ways. Some folks rode back to Phoenix the dirt route (DoD/Charlie & ?), some on to Flagstaff the dirt route (KTMser/Spencer, Sammy, CrashDbad/Rick) to camp overnight.

We rode on through the twisties to Jerome (okay, I need more practice on the twisties…)

...then through to Sedona, then onto Flagstaff via the scenic route. Did I say yet it was an awesome day to ride?!?!!
Just absolutely perfect temperatures, beautiful scenery, great people to ride with- What more can you ask for?

Once in Flagstaff, we settled in at the hotel (no Arctic Camping for us!) then had a super delish dinner at Buster's. This is their Buster Burger. WOW- looked fantastic!
21
We had steamed clams, super tasty French Onion soup, Prime Rib, Fresh Seared Ahi, and a bottle of cabernet that disappeared way too quickly.
If you get a chance, definitely check out this restaurant.

Yum!

Seared Ahi- it was perfect!

Next morning we met up with Preston (sorry, don't know your online name) at LaBellavia. He'd already eaten, so he hung out bs-ing with the locals and we got our grub on. I had a particularly tasty pesto omelet, sorry, no pics… Then we decided to roll out to Lake Mary Road.

It was a bit crisp, as far as us Phoenicians were concerned, but not truly cold.

It was a beautiful ride! Hardly anybody on the road, great pines, the lake to view, sun shining…

We rode on into Camp Verde where we had a little lunch.

Preston had to head back, so we said goodbye and then decided to slab it on home via I-17. Okay, while this is not your most exciting stretch of pavement, it was fun for me- with the power of my new toy, I had a blast passing the Semis, RVs, etc. (made it to 100mph for a few seconds there- sshh, don't tell!)

Anyway, that's pretty much it. You all missed a fantastic weekend of riding!! Something tells me we'll be doing a repeat soon. Hope to see you there!
