That's where we're going! It's called Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO), part of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO), supports the most diverse collection of astronomical observatories on Earth for nighttime optical and infrared astronomy and daytime study of the Sun. Sharing the mountaintop site with the National Solar Observatory, KPNO, founded in 1958, operates three major nighttime telescopes and hosts the facilities of consortia which operate 19 optical telescopes and two radio telescopes.

51
And we're off again! Need to get to Tucson before dark!

53
We stopped in at a coffee shop on 4th Ave in Tucson and struck up a conversation with this young man. He was quite a fast friend to Gulliver, and had lots of recommendations for sight seeing. Their coffee was good, and so were their deserts.

54
Gulliver thought he made quite a comfy spot to sit on, too!

59
The next moring we were ready to head to the Colossal Cave Mountain Park. Of course not without our Morning Coffee!!

60

Yum! The coffee places in Tucson do it Right!!!

61
Gulliver waits for his coffee : )

63
Breakfast at the Congress- It was quite tasty, but Dave was really, really disappointed that it had sprouts!
"What do they think I am? A Cow?"

65
We went to the Colossal Cave and took the tour. It was really fascinating and we had a great time.

70
Some fun views from inside the cave. Unfortunately, pretty much all of the formations have been broken off over the years. Aparently, Walt Disney used to come here with friends for poker games. Strange but true...

On the way home we stopped in for lunch at the Olive Mill, a 10-acre olive grove which, this time of year, is havings it's month long public celebration of its ending harvesting season. The farm, which began selling its artisan-crafted olive oil in 2005, features samples of the farm's artisan-crafted olive oils, as well as a handful of vendors showcasing everything from locally produced goat cheese and honey to Italian wine and fresh-roasted coffee.
